ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – A 27-6 run to end the first half turned a five-point deficit into a 16-point halftime lead, and the Union College women's basketball team went on to defeat Bard College, 59-38, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.
The Dutchwomen improved to 11-7 overall, 5-5 in the Liberty League.
Bard (4-13, 0-9) cut the halftime lead to 11 midway through the second half, but Union shot 44 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes and won going away.
Senior
Kate Thompson led the winners with 14 points and six rebounds;
Natalie Leone added 12 points and three steals, and
Amy Fisher chipped in with 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. The Dutchwomen outrebounded Bard, 42-32, and forced 22 turnovers.
Bard got 13 points and 12 rebounds from Tytravia Riley.
