SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— With 1.8 seconds on the clock, Union scored the game-winning goal to take the 1-0 victory over cross-town rival and conference foe Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday evening.
This 1-0 victory was the third consecutive year that the Dutchwomen had defeated RPI by a score of 1-0.
In the first half, both teams played a great defensive game with Union taking five shots and RPI taking six, with both teams making one save each.
In the second period, the teams continued their great battle until the 1.8 second mark when
Katie Monahan found the back of the net off an assist from
Jessica Farland to score the game-winning goal which game Union the victory.
The Dutchwomen head to Bard College to continue conference play on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
