ORONO, ME - Meghann Treacy stopped all 17 shots she faced and Nicole Arnold scored her first career goal to give the Black Bears a 1-0 victory over the Union Dutchwomen on Friday night.
The game was scoreless until the second period when Nicole Arnold scored her first career goal as a Black Bear 8:14 into the period. Assisting on the play was Jillian Langtry.
The Black Bears outshot the Dutchwomen 28-17 through three periods, with Union goalie Melissa Black saving 27 of 28 shots she faced. Treacy's win in net gives her a 6-11-0 record and her third shutout of the season.
Black made 14 stops in the second period.
The two teams are back at it again Saturday afternoon at 2pm at Alfond Arena.
