Dutchmen lose 85-57 to Hobart on Senior Day

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Connor Rehbaum scored 22 points and Thomas Campion added 20 to lead Hobart College to an 85-57 men's basketball victory over Union College at the Viniar Athletic Center Sunday. The Statesmen improved to 13-3 in the league and earned the #2 seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament, and now stand 18-7 for the season. The Dutchmen end the 2014-15 season with a 10-15 overall record and a 4-12 slate in the league. The Statesmen host Clarkson Wednesday night in a Semifinal Game.

Union's Terell Winney and Kevin Bentivegna were honored prior to the Senior Day game.

The Statesmen shot 52% and had a 43-34 rebounding advantage. Rehbaum had six rebounds and Trey Blanding had four assists. Hobart made 52% of the three point field goal attempts and Michael LaValle added nine points.

Union was led by William Hython, who had 18 points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Terell Winney's seven points gave him a total of 1,225 career points. He ends his career ranked 13th all time in Union College men's basketball career scoring. Weckworth also had seven points and Deshon Burgess and Wade McNamara had six rebounds each. Union shot 30% for the day.Burgess had a game high four steals for the Dutchmen.

Hobart jumped out to a 1-6 lead 6:22 into the game, and led by as many as 14 at 27-13 with 7:01 left in the first half. The Statesmen went into the locker room with a 36-25 lead. In the second half, Union was within 16 at 50-34 with 13:16 left in the second half, but the Statesmen went on a 37-17 run over the next 6:55 for a game best 31 point lead.
