Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Union Falls to St. Lawrence, 7-4

CANTON, N.Y. – Union suffered its first conference loss with a 7-4 setback to St. Lawrence in a game held on the campus of SUNY Canton. Saturday's contest completed a busy spring break for the Dutchmen, who played three opponents and traveled 3,000 miles during the past week.

The offensive output was the lowest for Union in 35 games, dating to the last time the team played in Canton (a 4-3 loss in 2013).

The third-ranked Dutchmen grabbed an early lead when Paul Alberti scored on an assist from Cam Slatton at the 7:24 mark of the first quarter.  A pair of goals from Charlie Ross in the second quarter produced a 3-3 tie at halfime.

The Saints surged ahead in the third quarter, scoring three times and never relinguishing the lead from that point.  Union's lone goal of the second half came from Tom Stanton, who scored at 6:01 of the fourth quarter.

Goalkeeper Stefan Basile finished with 15 saves, his second-highest total of the season.

Union travels to Rochester to face St. John Fisher this Wednesday.
