Union Defeats Rochester, 15-5

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union remained undefeated in Liberty League action with a 15-5 win over Rochester Friday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.

Jackie Hagopian and Emily McGrail recorded hat tricks (three goals) while Maggie Comiskey notched a five-point game (two goals, three assists) in a game that saw the Dutchwomen pull away early in the first half.

McGrail scored just 31 seconds into the contest, and after Rochester pulled even, Union responded with six straight goals, building an 8-2 lead at halftime.  McGail now has a team-leading 24 goals on the season.

Union received a highlight goal from Comiskey in the second half, as she weaved through traffic in the box and scored from close range at the 17:00 mark.  The Garnet opened a 10-goal lead on Hagopian's goal at 11:20, which created a running clock for the remainder of the contest.

Goalkeeper Kim Grinhaus made six saves before giving way to Jen Hughes late in the second half.

The Garnet will host RIT tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field.
