SCHENECTADY, NY- The Union College men's soccer team ended their first match in the Union Soccer Classic with a 0-0 (2ot) tie with Sage Colleges. The same thing happened when the two teams faced off last year Â
The team took 15 shots with six saves and three posts, 10 of the shots came from co-captain
Andrew Fontaine. This includes Fontaine's shot off the post from about 40 feet out. Goalie
John Weitzman made four saves over four periods on 13 shots, he spent all 110 minutes in the goal. Â Â
The Dutchmen held a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks, which were all taken by Fontaine.
Union faces Mount Saint Mary tomorrow at 7pm to close out play at the Union Soccer Classic at the Turf at College Park.Â
