ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Union College men's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 79-74 victory over Bard College in a Liberty League game on Friday night. Union improved to 5-8 overall, 3-3 in the Liberty League; Bard is 6-8, 3-2.

Deshon Burgess scored a career high 31 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field and 13-for-17 shooting from the foul line.
William Hython added 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Dutchmen were up by as much as eight in the first half, but the lead was trimmed to 37-33 by halftime.
Union opened the second half on an 18-7 run to build a 15-point lead, 55-40, with 13:44 remaining. Bard responded with an 18-5 run to cut the deficit to 60-58, and it was clear the game was going to be tight the rest of the way. It was.
The Dutchmen maintained the lead from that point – it got no bigger than five – until the Raptors tied it at 72-72 with 1:51 left.
William Hython scored Union's next five points – three from the foul line – while Bard went cold. The Raptors did not score from the 1:51 mark to the :08 mark, and Union snapped a three-game losing streak against Bard.
