Black Records Three Periods of Double-Digit Saves as Union Falls to No. 10 Princeton

SCHENECTADY, NY—The Union College women's ice hockey team fell 5-0 to No. 10 Princeton on Friday evening at Messa Rink.

Melissa Black recorded double-digit saves in all three periods (14, 10, 11). The team posted 28 blocked shots, with Elizabeth Otten stopping five. Jessica Kaminsky and Arianna
Kosakowski each blocked four. Princeton's goaltender Alysia DaSilva made 23 saves.

Princeton opened up the scoring at 14:40 in the first when Hilary Lloyd punched in a goal from Karlie Lund and Molly Contini. The Dutchwomen held the Tigers to 1-0 for the rest of the first period.

The game remained at 1-0 until the Tigers' Lund popped one in from the left side off an assist from Molly Strambley and Morgan Sly with less than five minutes left in the second period.

Princeton opened the third period with two goals in 41 seconds. At the 4:30 mark, Cassidy Tucker popped one in off Strambley and Sly second assists of the evening. 41 seconds later, Lund found the back of the net assisted by Tucker and Kelsey Koelzer. Keiko DeClerk scored her first career goal with 45 seconds left in the game, she chipped it in from the front as she was assisted by Maddie Peake and Stephanie Sucharda.

The Dutchwomen take on No. 4/4 Quinnipiac tomorrow at 4 p.m., at Messa Rink.
