SCHENECTADY, NY - Union College women's hockey plays host to No. 7/6 Colgate University on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Haley Shugart and
Arianna Kosakowski both netted goals as the Union College women's hockey team lost to Providence College on the road, 4-2.
After a scoreless first period, the Friars opened up the scoring 1:40 into the second when Madison Sansone found the back of the net off of a rebound. The Dutchwomen answered just ten minutes later when
Brandy Streeter sent one on net. It was deflected up in the air by
Jordi Naidrich and finally batted into the goal by
Haley Shugart.
Providence broke the deadlock tt the 3:47 mark. Christina Putingna scored to put the Friars up 2-1.
Again, Union would answer back as Kosakowski fired a shot from the left point and beat the goalie on the high glove side. The goal scored at the 14:59 mark of the third period was Kosakowski's first career goal in a Union sweater.
Just 90 seconds, Providence took the lead back as the Friars' Cassidy Carels converted on a powerplay opportunity which proved to be the eventual game winner.
Familiar Faces
This is head coach
Josh Sciba's first game against his previous team, Colgate. Sciba served as the assistant coach at Colgate from 2012-2016 helping lead the Raiders to a program-record 22 wins and a No. 8 ranking in 2015-16.
Pink at the Rink
The Dutchwomen are hosting their annual Pink at the Rink game Saturday (Oct. 29) against Cornell. The proceeds of the event will go towards members of the Union community battling cancer.
Scouting the Raiders
Colgate has started the season 5-0-1 including a pair of wins over New Hampshire and Merrimack. The Raiders are coming off a 2-2 tie with Syracuse. Jessica Eldridge is the team leader in points with 10 (3G, 7A), tying her for second in the ECAC.
Next Up
The Dutchwomen are on the road for the first time in ECAC play traveling to Brown University on Friday (Nov. 4) and Yale University on Saturday (Nov. 5).
