Volleyball Grabs Pair of Liberty League Wins

CANTON, NY - The Union College volleyball team beat St. Lawrence University and Skidmore College in a pair of Liberty League matches in Canton, NY Friday night.

The Dutchwomen cruised to a sweep (25-20, 26-24, 25-17) over host St. Lawrence. In the first set, Union forced nine errors from Saints. Five different Dutchwomen found the kill column with Liberty League Performer of the Week Emma Sprotbery recording the final three kills. Sprotbery lead the team with nine kills in the match while Morgan Clark finished with eight.

In the second match of the night, Union faced off against Skidmore. The Dutchwomen were looking for revenge after falling to the Thoroughbreds earlier this season. They would get it as they won in four sets (25-17, 27-29, 25-14, 25-20). Union's offense came out on fire hitting .308 in the first set as Ally VanDoren closed out the set with three kills.

Once again, Sprotbery led the team in kills with 15 while VanDoren tallied 14 and Clark added 13 of her own.

With the two wins, Union has now won six in a row improving its record to 3-3 in Liberty League play.

The Dutchwomen are back on the court tomorrow afternoon as they play Clarkson and RIT.
