Liberty League Volleyball Tournament Webpage
POUGHKEEPSIE, NYÂ -- The Vassar College women's volleyball team will play host to all three matches in the 2016 Liberty League Championships, starting Friday evening at 5 p.m., as No. 2 seed Clarkson University and No. 3 seed Union College start the festivities in Kenyon Hall. Following that match, VC will take on No. 4 seed Rochester Institute of Technology at 7:30 p.m. in the second semifinal match. The two winners will play at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon for the Liberty League title in Kenyon Hall.Â
Union has an overall record of 25-10, the fourth straight 20+ win season. The Dutchwomen have won eight straight matches. Coach
Andrew Brown has 54 victories in his two seasons with a winning percentage of 77%. The Dutchwomen were 8-4 in the Liberty League regular season. Earlier this season, the Golden Knights defeated Union 3-0 at St. Lawrence on October 8, but the Dutchwomen won 3-2 on October 22 at Skidmore. Clarkson is 19-14 and went 9-3 in league play.
Senior libero and co-captain
Katherine Moeller has been named the Liberty League Player of the Week in each of the past two weeks. She was the MVP of the Skidmore Inviational last weekend. Moeller is averaging 5.79 digs/set, which is second in the Liberty League. Senior outside hitter
Ally VanDoren is fourth in the league in kills (0.46/set) and fifth in kills (3.31/set). Senior setter and co-captain
Amanda Price is third in the Liberty League with an average of 9.17 assists per set. Senior outside hitter
Morgan Clark is sixth in the league in hitting percentage at .284. She has registered double-digit kills in eight matches this season, including a season-high 18 against Ramapo. On November 3 she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for District III.
