Jessica Farland scored two goals in the final 16:42 as the Union College women's lacrosse team (3-2) pulled out an 11-8 victory over Emerson College (4-3) at Rotch Field on Saturday afternoon.
In a game that was tied seven times, Farland gave the Dutchwomen an 8-7 lead when she scored with 16:42 remaining in regulation. With 13:05 left, she scored on a free position shot to give Union its first two-goal lead of the game.
After Emerson pulled to within 9-8,
Natalie Sullivan scored with 5:03 remaining for a 10-8 advantage. With 1:53 remaining,
Kellie Cronin scored her second goal of the game to clinch the victory.
The game was tied at every score from one-to-seven before Union pulled away for the win.
Farland was one of three Union players with two goals in the win.
Ramsey Walsh and Cronin also scored twice. Maggie Cominskey added a goal and two assists.
