CANTON, NY -- Senior Erin Lyons had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Union College women's basketball team to a 53-41 win over host St. Lawrence University at Burkman Gymnasium Saturday. The Dutchwomen improved to 5-4 in the league and 9-8 overall while the Saints are 4-6 in league play and 7-11 for the season.

Lyons set a career high with her 14 boards and had nine rebounds on the defensive side. It was her second double-double. She had a team high 13 points along with Sophie Borg and Nicole Conley scored 12 points. Jenni Barra added 11 points and matched her career high with seven rebounds. Union shot 39% and held the Saints to 26% shooting. The Dutchwomen out rebounded the Saints, 42-35.

Jenni Scudder led St. Lawrence with eight points and five rebounds and joined Shayna Daver with a team best five rebounds. St. Lawrence shot 86% at the free throw line.

St. Lawrence led 5-0 and had an 8-3 lead with 4:46 left in the first quarter. But Union went on a 22-5 run and led 25-13 with 2:48 left in the first half. The Dutchwomen had a 28-18 lead at halftime and had a 36-24 lead after three quarters. The largest lead in the fourth was 49-31 with 3:41 to play.

Union is back on the road next weekend with Liberty League games Friday at Vassar and Saturday at Bard.
