Union Falls to Yale in ECAC Play

SCHENECTADY, NY - The Union College women's hockey team fell to ECAC foe Yale University Friday night at Messa Rink.

After seven scoreless minutes of play, the Bulldogs broke the deadlock as off of a couple of passes from Laura Anderson and Eden Murray the puck found Julia Yetmen at the top of the point. Yetmen fired a slapshot on net. Shielded by traffic in front, Union goalie Kate Spooner was unable to stop the Yetmen shot as it found the twine at 7:01 of the opening period.

Just a 1:47 later in the period, Yale would strike again as this time it was Taylor Marchin who found the back of the net. Marchin played a two man game with Courtney Pensavalle on the edge of the right circle before Marchin put a wrister past Spooner.

Spooner made 20-of-22 saves in the 2-0 loss to the Bulldogs.

Union had four chances on the man advantage but, was unable to convert on any of the opportunities in the game.

The Dutchwomen will be back on the ice tomorrow afternoon as they play host to Brown University. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Messa Rink. The Bears lost 5-4 to RPI Friday night in Troy, NY.
