Tucker Newman had a career-high three interceptions to lead the Dutchmen in a 27-0 route over Rochester on Saturday afternoon.

Union improves its win streak to six games and is now 6-1 (2-0 Liberty League) on the season. Rochester falls to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in league play.

In addition to Newman's three interceptions, Union's defense created a total of seven turnovers in the contest; six interceptions and one fumble. The Dutchmen also had a season-high five sacks, resulting in a loss of 41 yards for the Yellowjackets. Â

On the offensive side of the ball, Union got its first touchdown of the day in the early minutes of the second period. After forcing Rochester to punt from its own three-yard line,
Nick Cascione made quick work of the opportunity, connecting with
Brett Waller for a 32-yard TD.

The Dutchmen doubled their lead on their very next drive, as
Connor Kinzelmann rushed for a game-long 29-yard touchdown to put Union up, 14-0, with 7:40 left in the first half.

Rochester would keep Union from further scoring in the half and through the third period, but Union's tailbacks got back in the end zone in the final quarter.

Kinzelmann added his second TD of the day after
Jason Nelson returned a punt 47 yards to put the senior running back just seven yards away from the goal line.

Union tallied its final TD less than three minutes later, as
Alex Waller scored his first collegiate touchdown off a four-yard rush with 8:10 left in the contest.

Other Notables: Jake Lombardo led Union with eight total tackles and two sacks.
Vincent DiCaterino had seven tackles, one sack, and 3.5 tackles for loss totaling 19 yards. Other than Newman's three interceptions,
Jason Nelson,
Daniel Cox and
Joe Vanderhoof each had an interception as well.

The Dutchmen return to Frank Bailey Field for Homecoming next weekend, hosting defending Liberty League champion Hobart on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. (ET).
