The Series vs. Hobart
Union leads the all-times series with a 50-48-2 record. The Dutchmen have not defeated Hobart since Oct. 10, 2009.

Hobart Coach Mike Cragg
In 22 seasons at the helm, Mike Cragg has led the Statesmen to unprecedented levels of success. Over the past five seasons, Cragg's teams have compiled a 50-8 record, including four Liberty League Championships under his belt. As the 23rd coach to lead Hobart College football, Cragg boasts a 150-59 record (.718). The Statesmen have earned 11 of the Liberty League's 22 championships since the conference was found in 1995, Cragg's first year as head coach.

Last Season vs Hobart
In last year's meeting, the #22 Hobart College football team rallied from a 10-point, second half deficit to defeat Union, 27-23 in the 100th all-time meeting between the two schools. The Dutchmen had a valiant effort against the pre-season league favorites, as it wasn't until Hobart's Brandon Shed caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Shane Sweeney with just 2:16 left in the fourth to pull out the victory.

Last Week vs Rochester
The Dutchmen earned their first shut out of the season with a 27-0 victory over Rochester on the road last week. The win over the Yellowjackets was Union's sixth consecutive victory of the 2017 season. Tucker Newman led the way, as the junior cornerback had a career-high three interceptions. In addition to Newman's three interceptions, Union's defense created a total of seven turnovers in the contest; six interceptions and one fumble. The Dutchmen also had a season-high five sacks, resulting in a loss of 41 yards for the Yellowjackets.

Coming Up
Next week, the Dutchmen travel to Ithaca College to play fellow Liberty League top-seed contender. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.

Newman Adds To Season Liberty League Honors
Union junior corner back Tucker Newman was named the Liberty League Football Defensive Performer of the Week for his game on October 14. Previous winners include Vincent DiCaterino (Defensive Performer) for Sept. 30, Evan Gilland (Defensive Performer) and Nick Cascione (Honor Roll) for Sept. 26, Tyler Barnes (Special Teams Performer), Jason Nelson and Cascione (Honor Roll) on Sept. 19, and Connor Kinzelmann and DiCaterino (Honor Roll) Sept. 11. DiCaterino also earned D3Football.com National Team of the Week honors on Sept. 12.

When Was The Last Time?
Last week's victory over Rochester was the first time Union had a shutout win since Oct. 22, 2005. Union defeated Coast Guard 7-0 in front of a homecoming crowd on Frank Bailey Field. The 2005 victory was the Dutchmen's seventh consecutive win of the season, which would become a 10-1 season. The only loss of the 2005 season would ultimately be season ending, in the second round of Division III NCAA playoffs.
