The Dutchwomen took on No. 3 Clarkson University last Friday night. Despite falling 5-1, Union held the defending National Champions tied at 1-1 until the third period. Clarkson outshot the Dutch 62-19, and 17-3 during the third period alone, when the ultimate game-winner was scored. Sophomore

Union vs. St. Lawrence – Dec. 9
The following night, Union fell to No. 8 St. Lawrence University in another 5-1 deficit.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Union is 5-9-1 all-time against RIT, with the series dating back to 2000. Last season, the teams split a pair of games in Rochester. Union took the first game, 2-0, before falling 0-2 the next day to the Tigers. RIT is 4-14-2 this season with victories against Holy Cross, Yale, Lindenwood and Boston University.
SHUGART'S SHOT
Sophomore
Haley Shugart earned herself ECAC Player of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 4. Scoring three goals, she led the ECAC in scoring during the respective weekend. With another goal this weekend against St. Lawrence, Shugart now has six goals on the season, and two assists. Despite missing the first six games of the season due to injury, Shugart has contributed immensely to the Dutch's success. All four of Union's wins have come since her return to the ice.
WHO'S LAUGHLIN NOW
Senior
Katie Laughlin has been hot for Union, scoring three goals in the Dutch's last six games. In her senior season, the Massachusetts native has nearly doubled her career totals, with four goals and one assist this year. For her first three years, Laughlin had just two goals and five assists.
A CLASS OF THEIR OWN
As a collective force, Union's sophomore class is a powerhouse in the league. Totaling 40 of Union's 87 points this season, the class is second in the league in points (40), assists (23) and goals (17). Seventeen of Union's last 27 points have come from the sophomore class.
Katelynn Russ leads the team in goals with seven this season.
APPLE WATCH
Cheyenne Harris ranks ninth in the ECAC for assists, with 11 on the year. With 16 career assists, she has the highest number of assists registered by a Dutchwoman before the end of her sophomore campaign. Maddy Norton, '14, holds the single season record for assists with 18, which she did in the 2013-14 season.
COO-COO FOR COCO
First year goaltender
Coco Francis recorded 57 saves last weekend against the defending National Champions, Clarkson University. The last time a Union netminder had 50 saves was when Melissa Black did so, in November 2015 against St. Lawrence. Francis won ECAC Rookie of the Week during the week of Oct. 30, for her back-to-back wins in Messa Rink that allowed the Dutchwomen to open up conference play at 2-0 for the first time in program history.
