Bard "Wade" down by Union, Bouton, 58-43

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY -- Senior Wade McNamara scored 14 points with 13 rebounds and Zachary Bouton added 12 points as the Union College men's basketball team downed Bard, 58-43 Saturday afternoon at the Stevenson Athletic Center. The Dutchmen, winners of six of the last seven, are 7-4 in the Liberty League and 11-8 overall. The Raptors fell to 1-11 and 3-18 for the season.

It was the ninth double-double recorded by McNamara this season. He leads the league in rebounding with 9.9 per contest. He had game highs in both categories and 12 of his rebounds were on the defensive side. Deshon Burgess scored 11 points with five assists and Greg King added six points. Union shot 37% and held Bard to 32% shooting. The Dutchmen had a 39-29 rebounding advantage.

Chris Lockwood scored 13 points to lead the Raptors and Harry Johnson scored 10. Christopher Rogers and Armando Dunn had five rebounds each.

The Dutchmen led 21-17 at halftime, and led by seven at 33-26 with 13:01 remaining. They got it up to a 14 point advantage at 48-34 with 5:54 to play and by as many as 18 with 1:27 left.

Union heads into a busy home week of games against Liberty League opponents. The Dutchmen host RIT Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at the Viniar Athletic Center, then host RPI Friday night and Skidmore Saturday afternoon.
