AUBURNDALE, FL -- Andy Brahler had three hits and drove in four runs to lead the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to a 6-1 victory over Union College at Lake Myrtle Park Friday afternoon. The Titans improved to 7-4 while the Dutchmen wrap up their Florida break week at 2-5.
Jack Paulson, Logan Reckert and Johnny Eagan had two hits each and Eagan drove in two runs for UW-Oshkosh. The Titans had 12 hits on the day and led 5-0 after three innings. Starter Brendan Meissner (now 1-1) allowed six hits and one earned run in 7 1/3 innings of work. He walked one and struck out five. Releiver Scott Gursuch gave up one hit and struck out two in 1 2/3 innings.
Leadoff center fielder
Matt Catalfo led the Dutchmen with three of their seven hits.
Anthony Amoroso drove in the lone run in the bottom of the eighth. Starter
Jake Vesling fell to 1-1 and gave up five earned runs and eight hits in four innings.
Ryan Kuchar allowed four hits and one run in four innings and
Jordan Whaley pitched the ninth.
Union opens the Liberty League season on Saturday, April 1 with a doubleheader at Skidmore at 1 p.m. The Dutchmen open the home season the next day with a 12:00 p.m. twinbill at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam.
