Bebout Sets Career High in Men's Lacrosse Win Over Clarkson

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Junior goalkeeper Sam Bebout set a new career-high with 21 saves in Union College men's lacrosse's 12-5 win over Clarkson University Saturday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.

The win gives the Dutchmen their first in Liberty League play this season. With the help of 15 second half saves from Bebout, Union was able to shut out the Golden Knights in the second half.

The offense was sparked off of a the 21 save performance from Bebout as eight different Dutchmen found the scoresheet. First year attacker Kerry Lyne led the way with a hat trick in the first half of play.

Senior attacker Peter Richardson and junior attacker Jordan Cooper both tallied a pair of goals for Union.

Clarkson's offense was led by Ryan DaRin who scored two of the Golden Knight's first two goals of the game.

The Golden Knight's fifth and final goal of the game came from Scott Dossier tying the game at 5-5 with 7:15 remaining in the second quarter. Union would finish the game on a 7-0 run to pick up its fourth victory of the 2017 campaign.

The Dutchmen will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to St. John Fisher College. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. in Rochester, NY.
