POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -- The Union College men's lacrosse team was eliminated from postseason contention when it lost by a final score of 20-10 against Vassar College in the regular season and Liberty League finale in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Throughout the beginning of the game, the lead flipped back-and-forth between the first quarter and a half of play.

The turning point came when the game was tied at the 5:54 mark when Vassar tied the game at 6-6. The Brewers would score the next five goals to take a commanding 11-6 lead into the halftime break.

The Brewers would add to their lead in the second half scoring nine times en route to a double digit victory over Union.

Sophomore goalie Jack Santilli and junior Sam Bebout split time in between the pipes for the Dutchmen as Santilli finished the game with six saves while Bebout stopped eight shots on net.

Senior midfielder Jack Scheufele led the Dutchmen with two goals on the day while fellow seniors defenseman Lance Lonergan Jr., attacker Daniel Kycia and Peter Richardson all netted goals in their final game in a Union uniform.

Seven other seniors played their last game for the Dutchmen in midfielder Kyle Mason, midfielder Jack O'Connor, midfielder Tom Lawton, midfielder Nick Wright, defenseman Matt Kosicki, defenseman Vito Capuano and defenseman Michael Froman.

This is the first time since coach Paul Wehrum took over the program over a decade that the Dutchmen will not compete in the Liberty League playoffs.
