SCHENECTADY, NY – A strong group effort helped propel the Union College men's basketball team to a 64-59 win against RPI on Saturday evening at the Viniar Athletic Center.

The Dutchmen improve to 9-6 on the season and move into fifth place in the Liberty League with a conference record of 5-4.

After posting a double-double the previous night, senior
Greg King led the Dutchmen with 19 points, shooting 8-for-11 from the field. Fellow senior
Kevin Weckworth was second on the team with 14 points.

Freshman
Rhona Eseyade was just one point shy of recording his first career double-double, as he finished the night with 10 rebounds and nine points.

The game was a hard fought battle, as the lead changed a total of 13 times. The Engineers held a 30-28 lead at halftime and eventually held a 13-point lead early in the second period. Luckily, the Dutchmen battled back to take a six-point lead in the final minute of play, before claiming the five-point win.

Union remains at home, hosting Skimore and Ithaca next weekend, Jan. 26-27, for more league play.
