POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Union College field hockey team had no luck against one of the Liberty League's top teams on Sunday afternoon, as the Dutchwomen fell to Vassar College, ranked 12th in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association national poll, by a 7-0 score at Weinberg Field.
Union (5-8, 1-4 Liberty League) had trouble generating offensive chances against the very strong Vassar (12-1, 5-0 Liberty League) squad, as the Brewers posted a 40-4 edge in total shots and an 18-3 edge in penalty corners.
Mikayla Young and Alyssa Pope led Vassar with two goals and an assist each.
Sophomore

The Dutchwomen are still alive in the race for the postseason with two matches to go, but will need to sweep next weekend and receive some help. Union begins the weekend on Saturday with a 4 p.m. matchup at Skidmore College.
