Women's Hockey Earns First Away Win Of Season 3-2

ROCKHESTER, N.Y. – Union College first-year forward Grace Heiting scored the game-winning goal to lead the Dutchwomen over RIT, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Union jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 8:30 remaining in the second period after junior forward Rachel de Perio netted her first goal of the season on the power play with assists from sophomore defenseman Megan Ryan and sophomore forward Sierra Lee.
  • The Tigers responded less than three minutes later with a power play goal of their own to tie the game, 1-1. Senior defenseman Arianna Kosakowski answered for the Dutchwomen with 47 seconds remaining in the second frame off assists from junior forward Jordi Naidrich and first-year defenseman Katie Sonntag to give Union 2-1 edge heading into the final period.
  • The hosts drew level once again with a goal at 7:13 in the third period. Heiting put away the Tigers on her first collegiate goal with 5:26 remaining off assists from junior defenseman Ava Reynolds and sophomore defenseman Camille von Steinbergs.
  • Sophomore goaltender Coco Francis recorded 25 saves in net to keep Union close.
