The Union College Dutchmen begin Liberty League play this weekend taking on Hobart College this Saturday, Oct. 6, in Geneva, N.Y. Kick off vs the Statesmen is set for noon (ET).

Last Time Out
The Dutchmen improved to 4-0 with a 49-6 win over Curry on Sept. 22. First-year running back Ike Irabor had a career day, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Andre Ross Jr. continued his streak of 100-plus yards receiving, catching seven passes for 124 yards and one touchdown. Will Bellamy threw for 222 yards, connecting with Griffin Beal, Pat Ryan and Ross Jr. for three touchdowns. Union's defense kept Curry to just 207 yards of total offense (75 rushing, 132 passing). Sebastien Lubrano led the Dutchmen on defense with seven tackles and had once forced fumble

Last Season vs Hobart
Union knocked off then-defending league champs Hobart, 28-23, on Oct. 21, to improve to 7-1. Union held a 21-3 lead at the half, and despite a 20-point effort by the Statesmen in the fourth quarter, a Connor Kinzelmann TD in the fourth helped Union secure the win.

Airing Out the Pigskin
The Dutchmen rank 23rd in the nation for passing offense, averaging 311.0 yards per game. With 1,244 yards through three games, Union ranks 32nd in the nation for total passing yards. Sophomore QB Will Bellamy is 16th in the nation for total passing yards (1,231) and 14th for passing yards per game (307.8). He is also ranked 30th in the nation for completion percentage (.659) and 18th in passing efficiency (172.8).

You Shall Not Pass
Union ranks 10th in the NCAA for total defense, as the Dutchmen give their opponents an average of 212.5 yards per game. Union also ranks 38th in the NCAA for rushing defense, allowing only 83.0 rushing yards per game. 

Rookie Sensation
Wide receiver Andre Ross Jr. earned three-straight Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors, twice been named to D3Football.com's National Team of the Week, and was lately named ECAC DIII North Rookie of the Month.

Ross Jr. recorded seven catches for 124 yards and one touchdown in Union's dominant 49-6 win against Curry on Sept. 22. It marked the fourth-consecutive week that the wide out has surpassed 100 yards in a game.

The Washington, D.C., native already has eight touchdowns on the season, with 31 total catches for 619 yards. Among the nation, Ross Jr. ranks fourth for both total receiving yards and receiving yards per game (154.8), while also ranking fifth in touchdown catches.
