Union Defeats RPI 2-1

TROY, N.Y. – Union College first-year forward Erin O'Shea scored the eventual game-winning in the 56th minute to lead the Dutchwomen over Liberty League rival RPI, 2-1, Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Engineers sprung out to an early lead with a goal in the fourth minute by Michelle Lomoz. Junior forward Linsey Giles answered for Union in the 11th minute with a header off an assist from fellow first-year midfielder Emma Schleimer to tie the score heading into halftime. 
  • The Dutchwomen put away in the 56th minute as O'Shea netted her fourth goal of the season to secure the victory. 
  • Union senior goalkeeper and reigning Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North Defensive Player of the Month Kelsey Hartsoe recorded eight saves in net.

The Dutchwomen return to action Friday, Oct. 12, hosting Liberty League foe William Smith at 4:00 p.m. (ET).
