WENHAM, Mass. - The Union College women's soccer team battled hard but again fell victim to a late-game goal, as the Dutchwomen fell to Gordon, 1-0 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team was able to get on the board in regulation despite a multitude of chances from both sides. Gordon held the advantage in shots, 18-15, but Union recorded 10 shots on frame compared to the Fighting Scots' seven. Gordon netted the decisive goal 1:34 into the overtime period as Lexi Potter scored to end the game.
- Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Hartsoe accounted for seven saves for the second consecutive game to start the season, helping to keep her team in the match. Junior forward Linsey Giles recorded a season-high and team-leading five shots, including three on goal for the Dutchwomen.
