Men's Soccer Loses to New Paltz 4-1

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Union College junior forward Salvador Lopez Jr. recorded a goal for the second consecutive game as the Union College men's soccer team fell to New Paltz, 4-1 on Saturday night at Skidmore College's Wachenheim Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Hawks took the lead in the fourth minute off a deflected shot by Kevin Doorley. Lopez Jr. tied the game 13:14 into the match after beating the keeper 1-on-1 off a through ball from junior midfielder Yasin Dombayci.
  • New Paltz regained the lead in the 37th minute when Ryan Stevens scored on a shot from outside the box to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. The Hawks added a pair of goals early in the second half to put the game out of reach.


WHAT'S NEXT
The Dutchmen return to action Friday, Sept. 7,  traveling to face Western Connecticut State in the MCLA Classic at 4:30 p.m. (ET).
