Volleyball cruises to two wins for undefeated weekend

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – After dropping the opening set to the day, the Union College volleyball team went on to win six-straight sets, defeating Wells and Mount St. Vincent for an undefeated weekend in the Union Tournament at Viniar Athletic Center on Saturday.

How It Happened
The Dutchwomen started the day off against Wells College, and despite a close battle, dropped the first set 25-19. In the second set, Union responded to win 25-15, hitting .200 while Wells hit -.065. The Express tried to battle back in the third set, nearly going point-for-point with Union, but the Dutchwomen prevailed, 25-22. Union then easily took the fourth and final set, 25-14, with a .306 hitting percentage.
 
In the second match of the day, Union swept Mount St. Vincent with .370 hitting percentage, second highest by the Dutchwomen this season. Union won the first set 25-20, before crushing the Dolphins in the second set, 25-10, with a day-high .500 hitting percentage. The Dutchwomen then closed out the third set, 25-21, for their sixth-consecutive win.
