SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team closed out the dual match portion of its fall season on Friday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over Manhattanville College at the Union Tennis Courts.
Three Dutchmen were dual victors on the day, as junior
Del Schunk, sophomore
Max Egna and freshman
Ioannis Binopoulos were victorious in both singles and doubles play. Schunk ceded only one game in his two matches, as Union dropped only 12 singles games and seven doubles games on the way to the win.
Union got off to a strong start on Friday by sweeping the three doubles matches. Schunk and classmate
Ian Bank earned the first point with a 8-0 blanking at third doubles, followed by a hard-fought 8-3 win for freshman

Max McGeown at first doubles. The sophomore tandem of Max and
Austin Egna completed the sweep with an 8-4 victory.
Freshman
Cameron Klepper started off singles play with a pair of 6-0 sets at sixth singles, while Schunk clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at fourth singles.
Max Egna earned his second win of the day at the third-singles flight with a 6-2, 6-0 victory, followed by Binopoulos' 6-0, 6-2 triumph at second singles. Freshman
Nick Weitzman capped the Union victories with a pair of 6-2 sets at fifth singles.
Austin Egna battled back from a 6-2 first-set loss to force a supertiebreaker in his first-singles match, but fell 12-10 to Manhattanville's Juan Huertas.
The Dutchmen will finish out its fall slate next weekend at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, held at Hobart College on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
