Dutchwomen Fall to Merrimack 3-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - The Union College women's hockey team fell to Merrimack, 3-0, in their season-opening game, Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The hosts took the lead at 2:37 when Mikyla Grant-Mentis opened the scoring. The Warriors doubled their advantage on the power play 9:22 into the period and held a 2-0 edge after the opening stanza opening stanza.
  • After a scoreless second period, Merrimack put the game out of reach with a goal at 8:22 in the final frame.
  • Sophomore goalie Coco Francis notched 33 saves to keep the Dutchwomen in the game.
