Women's Tennis Battles New Paltz in Season Finale

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team finished up the 2018-19 season on Tuesday night, falling to regionally ranked SUNY New Paltz by a 7-2 score in a non-conference matchup at the Union Tennis Courts.

Union (3-12) put up a good fight against New Paltz (17-0), which entered the week ranked 18th in the latest Oracle/ITA Div. III Northeast Regional rankings, but came up just short in several matches.

Sophomores Megan Brown and Samantha Siegel both ended the season with singles victories for the Dutchwomen. Brown finished the year on a four-match winning streak thanks to a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Laura Koob at second singles and ended the year with a team-best 11 singles wins this season. Siegel picked up her seventh win of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Jenna Grandville.
