Poom Mera led the Union College men's soccer team to a close 2-1 win over Lehman College in Bronx, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. The team improves to an impressive 6-0 record for the 2019 campaign with the win.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Dutchmen opened up scoring with the lone goal of the first half of the game with a goal in the 30th minute. Classmate Griffin Cowles passed the ball to Lopez Jr., and scored a low shot in the box to make it 1-0.Â
- Union continued to shine in the second half, with a goal in the 63rd minute by Mera. Mera shot the ball low from 15 yards out to expand Union's lead and score the game-winning goal for the Dutchmen.
- Lehman got on the board toward the end of the second half. Mubarak Ouro received a pass from Eduardo Victorio up front, and shot it on the right side past junior goaltender Trevor Krupp.
- Lehman College outshot Union 12-7 on the day. Krupp stopped 4 shots to earn his third win on the season.
- With the win, the Union College men's soccer team improves to 6-0 on the season. The record is the best start for the Dutchmen since 2011, when they went 7-0.Â
