Union College Falls to Plattsburgh State 4-2

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Union College women's soccer team lost to Plattsburgh State College, 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.  
 
Seniors Emma Schleimer and Erin O'Shea both tallied a goal in the game while Junior Mia Milliken and Sophomore Liz DiCecco each had an assist. 
 
Plattsburgh State got the scoring started in the 12th minute when Kieren Ritter scored followed by Kristen Villemaire in the 28th minute to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead. Union cut the lead to 2-1 when O'Shea scored on a pass from Milliken. The Cardinals would then tally again in the 39th minute to extend the lead to 3-1 coming from Taylor Tous. Union was outshot 14-6 in the half. 
 
Schliemer scored in the 51st minute to cut the lead back to 3-2. This goal came from a pass from DiCecco. Eight minutes later Plattsburgh State would make it 4-2 in the 59th minute when Avery Durgan scored. The score would hold at 4-2, handing the Dutchwomen their second loss of the year. Plattsburgh State out shot Union 6-4 in the second half as well. 
 
Junior Abby Mitty made 3 saves in the loss. 
 
The Dutchwomen (1-2-1) will get back to action when they take on Western New England at College Park Field on September 15th.
