SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – With the winter trimester under way, Union College has announced that spectators will once again be allowed for intercollegiate events in all indoor athletic facilities, effective today.
All indoor facilities will continue to maintain a 75 percent capacity restriction and proof of vaccination (at least two doses of Moderna or Pfizer or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine) will be required for all spectators ages 12 and up.
Upon arrival at the facility, all spectators must present photo identification and documentation of vaccination. Accepted forms of proof include: the New York State Excelsior Pass, a CDC vaccination card (either the physical card of a legible photo), or COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination QR code (Canada only). Union College students and employees can show their Union ID card.
Children ages 5-11 must show proof of having had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination in order to gain entry into an indoor facility. Children ages 2-5 who remain ineligible for vaccination will be allowed entry.
For the safety of our student-athletes, staff and fans, all game personnel and spectators must continue to wear masks at all times while inside campus facilities, including Messa Rink, Viniar Athletic Center and Alumni Gym Pool. Consistent with campus policy, cloth masks are not permitted unless you also are wearing a surgical-style mask underneath it. Surgical or medical masks may be worn alone.
Facility requirements and protocols are subject to change due to state, local and College policies. Please continue to check UnionAthletics.com for the latest information regarding indoor athletic events.
