About the Dutchwomen:
- Union is coming into the week coming off two loses to ECAC opponents. St. Lawrence beat Union 5-1 on Friday and Clarkson beat Union 4-0 on  Saturday. Junior Emily King scored the lone goal of the weekend on the power-play Friday night. Sophomores Josie McLeod and Allison Smith tallied assists over the weekend. Union will play Brown on Tuesday and then take on RPI for the Capital Districts Mayor's Cup, Saturday morning. Senior Grace Heiting leads the team in goals with eight and points with 12. Junior Emily King and sophomore Celeste Beaudoin are tied in assists with seven. Union sophomore Hope Crisafi made her first collegiate start this past Saturday against Clarkson. She made 33 saves in the loss. 

About the Bears: 
- Brown welcomes Union to Meehan Auditorium for an ECAC contest. Brown enters this week on a four game losing streak including dropping both games this weekend against Cornell and Colgate.  Senior Shay Maloney leads the Bears in goals(7) and points(11). First-year Anna Hurd and sophomore Cassidy Piersiak are tied atop the team with five assists on the season. Sophomore Kaley Doyle has 12 games and played in 13 posting a 2.40 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. She also is 2-9-1 this season. 

Last Time They Played: 
- Union beat Brown 3-1 the last time these teams played back on January 17, 2020. Union jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Brown scored to cut it to 2-1 and Union extended the lead to 3-1 and held on for the win. 

Historically Speaking: 
- Union has a 9-19-6 all time record against Brown. In the last six meetings between these teams Union is 5-0-1 including a three game winning streak. 

About the Engineers: 
- RPI won and lost over the weekend including a upset win over #7 Clarkson in overtime by a final of 2-1. RPI then dropped the second game on Saturday, 4-0 to St. Lawrence. RPI will take on Yale on Tuesday. Before the Capital Districts Mayor's Cup Saturday morning. Junior Marah Wagner leads the team with nine goals, nine assists and 18 points. 

Last Time They Played:
- RPI beat Union 9-2  the last time they met which was earlier this season on October 9, 2021. First-year Maddie Suitor and junior Carmen Merlo scored in the loss. 

Historically Speaking: 
- Union is 6-32-5 all time against RPI. Union is 1-2 in Mayor's Cup games, including a win in the most recent Mayor's Cup winning 2-0 back in 2019-20.

MAC Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month:
- First year Sophie Matsoukas was named the MAC Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month as she posted a posted a 0.71 goals against average and a .978 save percentage as well as earning her first collegiate shutout and win for the Union College women's hockey team. Matsoukas went 2-0 in two starts and made 91 saves in 93 shots in the month of December. She was also named MAC Goaltender of the week on December 14th. 

Rookie of the Week: 
- First-year Maren Friday was named Rookie of the Week on October 4,  following a four point weekend sweep against the Tigers of RIT. Friday has a goal and an assist in both games. Union started the season off 2-0-0. 

Fresh Faces: 
- The Union College women's hockey team enters the year with 15 players who have never played a collegiate hockey game. Seven sophomores are returning after not seeing the ice last year because of the pandemic, while eight first-years will played in their first collegiate games for the Dutchwomen in the season opener at RIT.

Captains: 
- Cassidy Michalicka was named the captain following serving as an assistant captain in the 2019-20 season for the Dutchwomen. Classmate Grace Heiting was named a captain for the 2021-22 season as well.
