About the Dutchwomen:
- The Dutchwomen began their week with a 3-2 loss on Tuesday evening to #7 Yale. Senior Cassidy Michalicka and junior Emily King scored in the game for the Dutchwomen. Senior Grace Heiting leads the team in goals with eight and also in points with 13 total points this season. Sophomore Celeste Beaudoin leads the team in assists with nine. First-year net minder Sophie Matsoukas has a 3.78 goals against average and a .888 save percentage in 11 games this season. 

About the #8 Raiders: 
- Colgate enters this weekend's ECAC matchup having split last weekend against Harvard and Cornell. The Raiders sit in sixth place in the ECAC with 30.5 points. Sophomore Kalty Kaltounkova leads the team in goals (18) and points (41). Junior Danielle Serdachny leads the team in assists with 26. Colgate has had two goalies split the time in net with sophomore Kayle Osborne and first-year Hannah Murphy. Osborne has a 1.95 goals against average and leads in .911 save percentage. Colgate is ranked ninth in the nation in the penalty kill and 10th on the power-play. 

Last Time They Met: 
- Union and Colgate met back on November 13 at Messa Rink. The Raiders won 7-1 against the Dutchwomen. Dara Greig had four points in the game with two goals and two assists in the win. Senior Grace Heiting scored in the game. 

Historically Speaking: 
- Union have never beaten Colgate. Union is 0-36-3 against the Raiders. 

About the Big Red:
- Cornell welcomes in Union following a 5-0 loss to Penn State on Tuesday evening. Junior Gillis Frechette leads the team with  11 goals and leads the team in points with 29. Junior Izzy Daniels leads the team in assists with 20. In the net Graduate Student Lindsay Browning has started 19 games and posted a 2.01 goals against average and a .929 save percentage. 

Last Time They Met
- Cornell shut out Union 3-0. Izzy Daniels scored and added an assist. Gillis Frechette had two assists in the game. Lindsay Browning recorded a 20 save shutout.

Historically Speaking: 
- Union is 1-31-3 all time against Cornell.  Union has not beaten Cornell since the 2003-04 season. 

MAC Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month:
- First year Sophie Matsoukas was named the MAC Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month as she posted a posted a 0.71 goals against average and a .978 save percentage as well as earning her first collegiate shutout and win for the Union College women's hockey team. Matsoukas went 2-0 in two starts and made 91 saves in 93 shots in the month of December. She was also named MAC Goaltender of the week on December 14th. 

Rookie of the Week: 
-First-year Maren Friday was named Rookie of the Week on October 4,  following a four point weekend sweep against the Tigers of RIT. Friday has a goal and an assist in both games. Union started the season off 2-0-0. 

Fresh Faces: 
- The Union College women's hockey team enters the year with 15 players who have never played a collegiate hockey game. Seven sophomores are returning after not seeing the ice last year because of the pandemic, while eight first-years will played in their first collegiate games for the Dutchwomen in the season opener at RIT.

Captains: 
- Cassidy Michalicka was named the captain following serving as an assistant captain in the 2019-20 season for the Dutchwomen. Classmate Grace Heiting was named a captain for the 2021-22 season as well.
