SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The #10/14 Union College men's lacrosse team scored the first six goals of the fourth quarter to pull away from Skidmore College and snap its three-game losing streak with an 12-7 Liberty League victory on Wednesday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

Skidmore (7-5, 1-3 Liberty League) netted the first two goals of the game to take an early lead, but Union came back with two goals in 35 seconds from Pike and classmate
Matt Dussault to quickly even the score, with Dussault's tally the first of his collegiate career. The Thoroughbreds took a two-goal lead again after a pair of Brian Gonsalves tallies, but junior
Jake Mabardy got the visitors back within a goal after 15 minutes with a score in the final minute.
The visitors outscored Skidmore by a 3-0 margin and allowed only one on-target shot in the second stanza to take their first lead of the afternoon. McEvoy evened the score again with 8:57 to go in the period off a feed from Davis, and Greene gave Union its first lead of the day more than three minutes later. First-year
Emmett Lyne's goal with 3:03 on the clock put Union up 6-4 at the half.
The tide turned in the third quarter, as Union struggled offensively and Skidmore scored the only two goals to tie the game headed to the fourth. Union took 11 shots in the period but had all seven on-target attempts stopped by Collin Kuester, while the Thoroughbreds put two past Donahue to even the score.
The final momentum swing of the game went Union's way in the final frame, with the visitors scoring six straight goals to put the game away. Union started the quarter with a man-up chance and made the home team pay, with Davis finding the net for his team-leading 23rd goal of the season. Donahue denied Gonsalves on the next possession and Pike followed up with his second of the day to restore the team's two-goal edge with 11:49 remaining, and Greene continued the run with his second of the afternoon. Two more goals from Davis sandwiched around a tally from sophomore
Patrick Reilly finished off the victory.
Union finished the afternoon with a 41-28 edge in shots, including a 30-15 advantage in shots on goal. Union also was opportunistic on the man-advantage, scoring twice on four chances.
Union will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday when the team hosts Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a key Liberty League clash beginning at 3 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field at Bertagna-Class of 1985 Stadium.
