ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The third-seeded and #17 Union College men's lacrosse team got off to a slow start and cound never recover in a 18-9 defeat at the hands of top-seeded and #3 Rochester Institute of Technology in the championship game of the Liberty League Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.
The win gives RIT (18-1) its 11th straight Liberty League title and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Union (11-6), which entered the week fourth in the NCAA Region II rankings, will await a potential at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
