Gluck Named Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week

TROY, N.Y. – Junior Max Gluck of the Union College football team was named the Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week for his efforts in Union's 34-7 win over Springfield College, the league announced on Monday.

Gluck was a perfect 4-for-4 on PATs in the win. In his first year as the primary field goal kicker, the Ridgewood, N.J. native went 2-for-2 on field goals. Gluck connected on a 40-yard field goal in the third quarter and followed it up with a 25-yard kick with under a minute to go in the frame.

The junior's 40-yard field goal is the furthest for a Union kicker since Blaise Ancona '11 hit a 41-yard field goal on September 25, 2010 against the University of Rochester.

Gluck becomes the first Union player to be recognized as the Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week since Will Halpin III '20 was honored on November 4, 2019.

Union continues the homestand with a nonconference tilt against Montclair State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field at Bertagna-Class of 1985 Stadium.
