GENEVA, N.Y. – The Union College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Hobart College in Liberty League play on Saturday afternoon at Cozzens Field.
Union (5-6-4, 1-2-2 LL) outshot Hobart (4-5-4, 3-2-2 LL) 14-12, including a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
Hobart scored at 10:28 of the first half. A pass from Griffin Patterson set up Will Slayton who scored in the lower right corner. Union drew a corner kick only 15 seconds later, but could not convert.
Eamonn Kelley had an excellent scoring chance at 11:30 of the first half with a low shot in the center, but Thomas Chyzowych made the save for the Statesmen. Hobart struck again at 35:39 to take a two-goal lead off of a header by La Zai Outerbridge.
Union put the pressure on in the second half and outshot Hobart 10-6 in the final 45 minutes. Senior
Wyatt Goldfisher had a chance at 74:30 with a shot, but Chyzowych was there for the save. First-year
Alexander Vittal had a pair of scoring chances later in the second half, but the Hobart goalkeeper made both saves.

Jackson Magee made two saves in the loss. Chyzowych made all five saves for the Statesmen to earn the shutout.
Union is back in action at home on Wednesday for a Liberty League matchup with St. Lawrence University. The game is slated for 4:30 p.m. at College Park Field.
