SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis got its Liberty League schedule off on the right foot on Wednesday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of Bard College at the Union Tennis Courts.

Ten different players had at least one win on the day for Union (1-0, 1-0 Liberty League), led by junior Christian Crowder and first-year David Wang with a pair of wins each.

The day started on the singles courts for the Garnet Chargers, with Union combining to lose only nine games in the six wins. Sophomore Solen Bellemare was the first to finish for the home team, putting up a pair of 6-0 sets against Kai O'Donnell at the third flight. Wang followed suit in his fifth-singles match with Yashar Khan, winning 12 straight games to get the sweep.

Crowder and sophomore Daniel Saxe both lost only one game apiece in their sixth- and fourth-singles matches, respectively, with Crowder dropping one game in the first set to Asher Henry and Saxe needing only one extra game in the second set against George Miahkov. Senior Seth Prusko defeated Faisal Jones by a 6-3, 6-1 score in second-singles action and first-year Jesus Sosa completed the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Thanasis Kostikas at the top flight.

With the match already decided, Union made quick work of doubles play with a trio of 6-0 wins.
