SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior offensive tackle
Nick Olivola was named to the D3football.com All-Region 2 second team and head coach
Jon Drach was recognized by the website as its Region 2 Coach of the Year, D3football.com announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Olivola continues a strong Union tradition of All-Region tackles, becoming the program's fifth honoree in the last six seasons and the 11th offensive tackle recognized by D3football.com since 2005. A three-time All-Liberty League honoree and 2025 first-team selection, Olivola was a four-year starter for Union between center and right tackle. As a senior, he did not allow an individual sack all season and anchored an offensive line that ranked 21st in Division III with only eight sacks conceded in 10 regular-season games. As a team, Union averaged 174.7 rushing yards and 369.6 yards of total offense per game during the regular season.
Drach is the fourth head coach in Union football history to earn a Regional Coach of the Year nod and just the second to earn the honor from D3football.com, joining John Audino, who was named the East Region Coach of the Year in 2005. As leader of the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year, Drach helped engineer the second-largest turnaround in Division III this season, improving from a 3-7 record in 2024 to an 8-2 regular-season record and the program's 14th NCAA Tournament appearance in his second season. Union completed the program's fourth undefeated conference slate (and second 7-0 finish) and ended the regular season on an eight-game winning streak.
With Olivola's honor, Union has earned 48 All-Region honors from D3football.com since 2005, with at least one player recognized in each of the last seven seasons and 16 of the last 20 overall.
Drach and Olivola both received similar recognition from the Eastern College Athletic Conference later in the month, with Drach earning ECAC Coach of the Year honors and Olivola picking up a spot on the All-ECAC second team.
