Allie Kronenberg of the Union College women's volleyball team were recognized for their play on the court and success in the classroom with a spot on the 2025 Women's Volleyball Academic All-District Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators and announced on Tuesday afternoon.
To be nominated for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of or start at least 66 percent of an institution's matches, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school. Select honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with Kronenberg earning the recognition this season for the Garnet Chargers.
Kronenberg was named to the All-Liberty League second team for the second straight season as the team's primary setter. The biomedical engineering major led the team and ranked third in the Liberty League with 1,020 assists (9.81/set), placing 11th on the school's single-season assists list and ranking fifth all-time in assists per set. She also put down 68 kills and 26 service aces while leading the team with 59 blocks and ranking third with 210 digs. She had at least 20 assists in 29-of-31 matches this season, including a career-best 54 in a five-setter against
Oswego State, and at least one kill in 27 contests. Through two seasons, the sophomore already ranks seventh in school history in assists (1,862) and her current average of 8.87 assists per set is the highest-ever for a Union player with at least 200 sets played.
Escobar appeared in 28 matches with 20 starts during her junior season, playing as a key member of the back row defensively for the Garnet Chargers. The biochemistry and Spanish and Hispanic studies double major finished fourth on the team with 188 digs and 22 service aces, averaging a career-best 2.27 digs per set while also chipping in 14 kills and 14 assists. In her first three seasons with the Garnet Chargers, the Tucson, Ariz., native has recorded 436 digs, 74 service aces and 103 kills in 222 sets.
Pinciaro played in all 31 matches and all but two of the team's 108 sets as a sophomore, ranking second among Union players with 194 kills as a outside hitter. The economics major had at least one kill in every match for the Garnet Chargers this season, including 22 matches with at least five, while also ranking fourth on the squad with 36 blocks and adding 47 digs. The New Castle, N.H., native is averaging over two kills per set through her first two seasons at Union, putting down 411 kills with 60 blocks and 93 digs in 200 sets.
With the three honors, Union student-athletes have now earned 286 Academic All-District honors since 2001.
