Tedesco and Plesser Named to All-Liberty League Teams

TROY, N.Y. – Sophomores Tanner Tedesco and Jack Plesser both were named to the All-Liberty League teams in recognition of their standout second seasons with the Union College men's basketball team, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Tedesco, who was named a Liberty League honorable mention as a rookie, makes the leap all the way to the first team, while Plesser picks up his first career All-Conference honor with a spot on the second team. Tedesco is the first Union player to be named to the All-League first team since Kevin Weckworth '18 in 2017-18, while Tedesco and Plesser are the first pair of Union teammates to be honored on the first or second teams in the same season since Deshon Burgess '17 and Wade McNamara '17 in 2016-17.

Tedesco earned a spot as one of the top-five players in the conference this season after filling up the stat sheets for Union in his second year. He ranked third on the team by averaging 13.5 points per game and also grabbed 4.1 boards per outing, while leading the team and the Liberty League with 175 assists (6.5 apg). At the national level, Tedesco ranks third in Division III in assists per game, fourth in total assists and 37th in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.33), while he ranked seventh in the country by playing an average of 36.5 minutes per game. His 175 assists this season rank third on the school single-season list and are the most-ever by a Union sophomore, and his 15 assists against SUNY Cobleskill on November 11 are tied for the most by a Division III player this year and were the most for a Union player since Steve Evans '94 had 16 in 1993.

Through two seasons at Union, Tedesco is averaging 12.4 points, 5.9 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game, and he will head into his third year looking to improve on a total of 293 assists that already rank him eighth in program history.

Plesser had a breakout sophomore campaign for the Garnet Chargers, leading the squad by averaging 17.3 points per game while also grabbing 5.9 boards per game and adding a team-best 24 blocks. He ranked fourth in the Liberty League in scoring average and also finished top-three in both field-goal percentage (49.2 percent) and free-throw percentage (82.3 percent), while his 32.3 minutes per game ranked fourth among conference players. He scored in double figures in 25-of-27 games on the year, including a career-high 35 points at St. John Fisher University on November 26, and registered nine games of 20 or more points.

After more than doubling his scoring output from a year ago, Plesser will enter his junior season with 681 points and 250 rebounds, having averaged 13.6 points per game and shot 50.5 percent from the field over his first 50 games in garnet.

Tedesco and Plesser helped lead the Garnet Chargers to a 16-11 record and an 11-7 mark in conference play this season, earning the first home postseason game in five years and setting the stage for another year of growth in 2025-26.
