Four from Women's Hoops Named CSC Academic All-District

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Four members of the Union College women's basketball team was recognized for their play on the court and success in the classroom with spots on the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators and announced on Tuesday. Seniors Grace Ardito, Grace Ceseretti and Kate Peek, and junior Morgan Schultz all earned the honor for the first time in their careers
 
To be nominated for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of or start at least 66 percent of an institution's games, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school. All Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.

Ardito started all 28 games during her senior season, averaging 10.2 points per game while ranking fifth in the Liberty League and tying for 10th on the school single-season list with 44 three-pointers. She played the second-most minutes of any Liberty League player this season, averaging nearly 32 minutes per outing. The senior was named the Most Outstanding Performer of the Liberty League Tournament after averaging 23.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in leading the Garnet Chargers to a conference title.

Ceseretti also started every game for the Garnet Chargers as a senior, averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. She led the Liberty League with 106 assists, a total that ranked third all-time in a single-season at Union, and also finished seventh in the conference in three-pointers made (36). She ended her career by filling up the stat sheet with 12 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists in the NCAA Tournament against Smith College.

Peek joined her senior teammates by starting all 28 contests in her final season, earning All-Liberty League second-team honors after ranking second on the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game and also finishing second with 40 steals. She set a new program record by shooting 90.0 percent (45 of 50) from the free-throw line this season while also ranking third on the school's single-season three-pointers list with 61 shots from downtown. The senior sharpshooter also led all Liberty League players in minutes played this season, averaging 32.8 minutes per game.

Schultz appeared in all 28 games for Union as a junior, as a key player off the bench and late-season starter. She averaged 5.3 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting on the year, and increased her averages to almost eight points and six boards per game when inserted into the starting lineup for the season's last six games. She just missed her first collegiate double-double in the Liberty League Championship game, scoring 11 points with a career-best nine caroms.

With the four honorees, Union student-athletes have now earned 298 Academic All-District honors since 2001.
