SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Six Union College men's soccer players scored against Bryant & Stratton in a 7-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at College Park Field, marking the Garnet Chargers' most goals in a single match since Sept. 24, 2024 against Albany Pharmacy. 

Sophomore Patrick Flaherty recorded his first collegiate goal, finding the back of the net twice on the day, and his classmate Diogo Charraz netted his fourth goal of the season.

Charraz has been scoring at a red-hot pace for Union (4-1), and wasted no time doing so Saturday with a score 30 seconds into play. He has four goals in 82 minutes of action this season.

Flaherty scored his first of the day less than four minutes later, assisted by first-year Josiah Blake and sophomore David Dolores. He completed his brace in the 21st minute and with his squad already up 4-0. 

Junior Gio Bozzo became the fourth Garnet Charger to score in the first half, joining his classmate Max Berger and Blake in the scoring column at the end of the 26th minute. Union found the back of the net on five of its 11 shots in the first, while Bryant & Stratton (0-1) only accumulated two attempts. 

Even though the Garnet Chargers only scored once in the second half, they heightened their defensive intensity and held Bryant & Stratton without a shot in the final 45. Union also earned five corners and put five shots on frame. 

Senior Nate Bott and junior Dmitri Wild-Arons combined for Union's third clean sheet of the season with Wild-Arons securing the only save of the match for the Garnet & White in goal.

Flaherty, Berger, and first-year Sawyer Weiss all notched their first collegiate goals in the blowout. Blake's multi-point day came during a three-game scoring streak for the Loomis Chaffee product. 

Union's four-match winning streak is its longest since 2023. The Garnet Chargers look to keep things rolling with a big test against No. 7 Wheaton on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.
