Wellness Committee Mission Statement

The mission of the Union College Wellness Committee is to promote and support programs that encourage the wellness of College employees.

The committee develops programs that are offered free or at discounted rates to employees. These include fitness classes, weight-loss programs, health screenings and similar programs. The committee also promotes programs offered by other organizations that encourage healthy lifestyles. These include community walks and runs, races, screenings and fitness programs.

Wellness Committee Members
The committee is comprised of volunteers from various departments on campus that collaborate to support the wellness mission. The committee welcomes any new volunteers who are interested in taking an active role by regularly attending meetings and assisting with development of wellness outreach activities.

Goal Statements
The committee focuses on identifying a variety of outreach activities and initiatives to support the wellness mission:
  1. Promote healthy lifestyle behaviors;
  2. Develop wellness outreach activities;
  3. Encourage personal and professional productivity;
  4. Encourage physical, mental, social, and holistic wellbeing
Responsibilities
  • This committee meets monthly to review the agenda
  • Coordinate and/or develop outreach programs
  • Assist managing outreach programs
  • Assess and discuss feedback about potential and current outreach programs
