SCHENECTADY, NY – Chris Turnbull scored 13 points and Rick Naylor added 10 to post Trinity College to a 65-43 win over SUNY Cobleskill in the Consolation Game of the 2013 Sig Makofski Invitational Tournament at Union College’s Viniar Athletic Center Sunday. The Bantams now are 4-2 while the Tigers fell to 1-4.
Edward Ogundeko had a game best 11 rebounds with eight points for Trinity, which shot 41% and had a 44-34 rebounding edge for the game. Shay Ajayi had seven boards with seven oints and Hart Gliedman added eight points.
Cobleskill was led by Brandon Smith’s 15 points, and six rebound each by Travis Woods and Brandon Smith. Woods and Cortell King scored eight each and the Tigers recorded five blocks while being held to 29% shooting.
With a 31-25 lead at halftime, Trinity opened it up to a 16 point lead at 51-35 with 8:22 left on a three pointer by Tumbull. It was a 12 point game with 5:22 left after a layup by King made it 53-41, but the Bantams went on a 12-2 run to finish the contest.
